Chicken nuggets cause consumer injuries - company recalls

Parents generally want what is best for their kids. They try to buy all the right products to keep them safe, and feed them all right foods to help them stay healthy. However, when companies are not careful about what they are doing, parents can only go so far to protect their children.

One family favorite in homes across Minnesota and the United States is chicken nuggets. Parents can turn to these easy to prepare foods to help feed their children without complaints from picky eaters. However, some chicken nuggets may actually be causing harm.

Recently, Tyson Foods Inc. has recalled more than 75,000 pounds of chicken nuggets. According to reports, a product scraper in a blending machine malfunctioned and left the nuggets contaminated with small plastic shavings. Some customers have complained that the nuggets have caused oral injuries. The company says that the affected chicken nuggets were sent to retail giant Sam's Club nationwide in late January and February.

People who are injured by defective products - like these chicken nuggets - may suffer serious injuries as a result. While the injuries in this case seem to be minor, other more serious injuries can occur when companies do not take the care that is necessary when sending a product into the marketplace. In these situations, consumers can be left with long-term consequences that require extensive care.

Minnesota residents that have been injured by a defective product should know that they have legal rights. The negligent company may be financially responsible for the injuries suffered as a result of their unreasonably dangerous product. Compensation can include medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering and more.
